Anybody keeping up with this? Some cop went nuts and has killed several people in the last 36 hours. He apparently published a manifesto. They're still looking for him. The LAPD is nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs, he's mainly gunning for them.

They're saying or suspect he's in the cold Bear Lake area - due to the fact there could be a empty cabin available.

I"m sure he's a survivor - I don't think that's the area he's in ??

Truck was out - obvious - decoy arranged - and it's too cold to stay

he's not stupid - just crazy...!

If he has survival training he knows how to live out in the open, and you don't need a cabin to survive in the open. A tunnel in the snow will do nicely. Sooner or later he is going to make a mistake. He may definitely be headed elsewhere but I have been proven wrong in these situations many times. I don't think he is that smart, he's a city kid. He will be drawn to the lights of civilization and I don't think he's in the mountains. I think he switched his truck with a car and headed out of state. Torching his truck was a dumb move, he should have driven it out somewhere and hid it. I would have done it deep in the woods, it may not have been found for months. I bet he headed north or south, most likely north as I heard a rumor he may have family in the Portland/Vancouver area.

It's just as likely he is still in LA though.

I agree burning the truck was stupid - I agree he had another vehicle available.

It would be just as stupid for him to be leaving foot prints in the snow.

The police dept. fired him 5 yrs. ago - it's like why now?

Why was he fired? - personality traits of violence? never heard..?

I don't think he's hiding - I think he's still working off his list of hits...?

I heard he had some objections to what was going on in the police force and there was some infighting and politics involved, he was sacked. We all know how things like this work, I personally have no faith in the integrity of any police force or any of the individuals in it. If he's like a lot (not all) of other "elites" in our police forces he is a hot head who lacks perspective when it comes to reality I would think. LAPD is being tight lipped but I bet if the right people got involved and all was seen then it would be very appalling.

Do you notice that us - us humans are receiving these crazy scenarios - it's daily

and we humans just cope with the craziness.. it's stressful - makes one sick and on until the next one - we not shocked by much.

I saw in one interview that the LAPDs utmost concern was public safety, then I find this. Somebody needs to lose their badges.

And it gets even "better":

Following that shooting, Torrance officers responding to the gunfire, collided with and shot at a pickup truck leaving the area. The driver was not related to the Dorner case.

That looked like a black truck. So basically, if you own a truck in that area, I suggest taking the bus for a while

The truck owned by the two women delivering papers was a very bright turquoise/teal looking color. It was practically glow in the dark. They're going to start firing on kids on motocross bikes next.

I have been in LA this weekend. The cops are nervous, understandably.

Every traffic stop has at least two cops, and usually a second car with two more shows up.

The hunt continues to focus on the mountains to the north.

The looks enough like LL Cool J, the rapper turned actor, that if I was that actor, I think I would stay in New York for a few weeks.

Meanwhile, there is an investigation into the incident that triggered all of this.

What is strange is how the guy had an exemplary record while serving in the Navy, and yet is reported to be a *****-up by the LAPD.

Yeah, that's very suspicious to me as well. I'm surprised he's still on the loose. The suspense is incredible. I'm not cheering for him, especially since he shot innocents, but there's something strangely compelling about the whole "lone man against the establishment" motif. Kind of reminds me of a James Cagney "White Heat" or Humphrey Bogart "High Sierra" movie, anti-hero and all.

Allegedly shot innocents.

If he survives this, then we might find out if he actually did. (I read a lot of those kinds of stories when riding in airplanes.)

It is interesting that the first person he is suspected of shooting was the person who represented him in the hearings.

This would have made a great Wambaugh story.

Same reason people supported Bonnie and Clyde, I guess. He's captured the imagination of the country and there's enough bad history for the LAPD and enough grey area lack of information to allow people to think he might be innocent.

As for myself, I apply the same rule I apply to terrorists: Once you find it necessary to kill for your cause, then your cause wasn't righteous in the first place.
