Would you be a real estate agent in Las Vegas?

Post by Snooz »

I just found out that a woman I used to work with that retired early at 51 - 52 is now a real estate agent in Las Vegas. Last I heard, the market down there is still very depressed. I'd rather continue working a secure job than retire early and get a smaller percentage of my retirement and have to work another job. Granted, she was always stressed out but she's got the kind of personality that is ALWAYS stressed out... lots of drama. I can't see that changing. I'd rather not live somewhere that hot either.

We call them Estate Agents here and they are mocked as being the most hated people In the country.

Ours have to receive training throughout their careers to maintain their licenses but it sounds like basically the same job.

I am not being a smart aleck, but you must work for the government. Even now that option is becoming less secure. I had a trade which I thought would offer some security, and it did till CNC machines could pretty much replicate my genius talent (I joke).

My best friend is a Doctor, and while employed has seen his income dwindle.

It's pretty much a crap shoot as to what we choose for employment.

She had the black vote all locked up.

Yes, Federal employee on a military base. She had 30 years in, she was pretty much immune to any RIFs.
