I remember how outraged a few members here got at the idea of two gay "cowboys" when Brokeback Mountain was released and that the very idea of an American symbol of strength and virility was being sullied by the communists in Hollywood...

Cowboys have been around longer than the Spanish Viceros if you want to look at the Mongols. They moved their herds of stock from horseback for centuries, they practically lived in the saddle. In North America though the Spanish settlers did teach the Americans everything the knew.

Bah. The Mongols were reindeerboys. Hardly the same. :yh_wink

Here are some examples of spectacular horse riding. And yes, they are all riding sidesaddle. The first are San Antonio natives, the second are from Mexico.
