did the 2013 elections really take place the AA grumpy column

Post by the grumps »

good evening although by the time i,ve written this it will be good morning

your grumps has been out and about today in the old bentley and i spotted buildings being used as polling stations and i rememberered its the local council elections today so i was looking forward to settling down with tea and toast and watching peter sissons with his swing ometer on auntie beeb.

alas i was disapointed no all night election coverage on bbc1 and non on sky tv either just a mere 30 minutes on bbc news 24 and 45 minutes coverage on a pakistani tv channel on sky 806.

is this part of the austerity cut backs we,ve all been hearing about or are the tories due for a drubbing at the hands of ukip that theres a semi news blackout by the government restricted to the early hours of the morning or a tv channel for pakistanis (or those north of dewsbury)

or is there just no intrest in televising the council elections anymore?

will dave order a simalar blackout at the general election in 2015 ?

Polling stations don't close until 9 pm and then the votes have to be counted which could mean a result Is not known until the early hours of the morning. They will most likely be on the news tomorrow.

Unless of course, It's like the BNP leadership challenge where we had 6 recounts, a bout of fisticuffs, accusations of poll rigging and refusal to accept the verdict, In which case you'll be waiting for a result for 3 days.

10pm, then the boxes have to be moved to the counting house. Nothing in Cornwall appears to get counted overnight, it's all kept under guard until 7am this morning then the count begins. No results expected here before 7pm tonight.

ETA actually it's not the whole of cornwall but certainly this area has to wait until all the boxes are collected in one place.

After numerous recounts Nick won by just 4 votes....

Now far from me to suggest anything untoward but those last 6 postal votes that came In on the 11 th hour delivered In person by Nick's daughter ?????????????
