Depending on how many people want to participate, we all submit music (somewhere between 5 and 10 songs each) and we pair them off to see which gets the most votes until we come down to one favorite one overall.
We can do this again with Jazz or classical or big band or hip hop if it becomes a hit (pun intended).
We've got a lot of music buffs here so we should end up with a good collection.
I'll keep the tally and administer the game since I'm the forum attention whore.
Anybody want to play?

I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.
Folks who'd like to copy my intellectual work should expect to pay me for it.:-6

I'm off to YouTube and shall return shortly!I think it's probably best to list them all at once. You don't have to link them though because I'll do that as I pair them. But, you can link them if there is a version you like best.

Lookin’ Out My Backdoor - Creedence Clearwater Revival
You Didn’t Have to be so Nice – The Lovin’ Spoonful
A Beautiful Morning – The Rascals
Go All the Way – Raspberries
Pour Some Sugar on Me - Def Leppard
Why Can’t This Be Love - Van Halen
Lust for Life – Iggy Pop
It was a difficult choice whether to put "Surfin' Bird" by the Trashmen or Iggy Pop ... it was touch & go for a while and I'm still not entirely comfortable with my choice. :yh_wink
All good music so far. We only have 4 participants, I was hoping for at least 7. We'll give it some more time to see if anyone else wants to submit songs. Everyone is still invited to participate in the voting though.

I should really have a go at this, but ten all time favourite songs ? That might take me a while to consider, some leap out immediately, while others need to be remembered and then independently rated against the others.............................music shouldn't be this hard work should it?
I will be back.
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth
Alright. Good choices, Bruv. We're getting there. Another two and I'm satisfied we can have fun with this. I figured Valerie and Tyr would want in. Guess not.

I'd enjoy Tyr's choice but suspect they may not be the run of the mill. Nothing wrong with that of course but may take a few listens, at least, to get the brain tuned in to something completely new. I recognise every track so far posted

Tull and Alice Cooper.

Very cool. Let's give it till tomorrow afternoon in case anyone else is interested, then we'll begin.
I've never done this before so bear with me. What I'm planning on doing is print out a list of all the songs and then pair them off so after the first round we'll have half of the songs left and then do a second - third - fourth round and so forth until one song is left standing. Anyone who wants to can vote and we'll give each pairing enough time for people to listen at least one time. I recommend a happy mood and a good set of head phones when listening. Mood can make or break a listening session.
Looking forward to tomorrow.

Remember, anyone can vote, not only people who submitted songs. Feel free to explain why you chose a song if you like.
Since these songs were all submitted under the label of "Rock" I'm not going to attempt to match anything. I'm pretty much closing my eyes and pointing at the paper in picking.
BUDDY MILES - Them Changes - YouTube vs Little Richard - Lucille - YouTube

I'll go with Buddy Miles. As for classic rock, he played with the Inkspots, Wilson Pickett, Electric Flag, and was a member of Hendrix's Band of Gypsies.
