Doom 3 - For Xbox

All this talk and research about Half-life 2 got me thinking about Doom 3.

Let's get this discussion going with these tidbits:

DOOM 3 (Xbox)

Publisher: Activision Developer: Vicarious Visions / id Software

Genre: First-Person Shooter Release Date: October 26, 2004

ESRB: Mature

Spiffy: It looks just like the PC version, with co-op multiplayer to boot.

Iffy: Some framerate slowdowns; still needs some optimizations

DOOM 3 - Sluggo's Blog From Hell (PC)

THE MOMENT HAS finally arrived. DOOM 3 is finished, and now all that remains is the killing ... lots and lots and lots of killing.

We're doing tons of coverage on DOOM 3 all week, but while we work on our official review, I've been pursuaded to provide impressions of the game as we play, updated regularly each day until we've finished it off for good. So bookmark this page and check back regularly, as it should make for an entertaining week.

Hi Warsai,

I've just finished reading some reviews that Doom 3 is almost like a rip-off of Half-life - but 5 years too late. :-2

The premise is very similar, isn't it? Beautiful looking game though. Well, I guess "beauty" is in the eye of the beholder?!

Have you had a chance to play it yet?

i'm going to wait until i can afford a $400 video card (which means, wait one year and it'll be $69), before i buy doom III or half life 2.

i'm too darned po' right now to do otherwise. :-1
