At the age of twenty I honestly never expected to reach forty so the last twenty years have been a bonus.
I could have made life more exciting but I think I've achieved what I set out to - I'm happy.

I'm content. I have a wonderful marraige, loving family, friends, a social life, outside Interests and work. My bills get paid and I'm comfortable.
I've enjoyed life even hitch hiking all over Europe In my younger days
I don't see my life as over ... I strive all the time for my next goal... next up, horse sanctuary for abused horses.... one day, one day.
I'll always remember my Father once saying ' Never look back and say I wish I had done this or I wish I had done that... at least try to do them'....

I now see my live as an adventure, but then I am looking back way more than 20 yrs.

I've been too busy being too responsible! :wah:
Keeping my eye on mum at 13 years old, running most of the household etc.
Buying a house at 21, and because of that needing to stay in a job that I do not like.

I still want to live more and I hope there is nothing wrong with it. Sadly we have a short lifetime.

I've not answered because I don't think there is a binary answer. The question is ambiguous, as best.
Have I lived it in its entirety? Of course not - I'm still here.
Have I lived longer than I expected to? Definitely. I never expect to see the week out.
Have I made the most of my life? Who's to say? How am I to know what the future holds?
Have I made the most of my life thus far? I'm a depressive. Who am I to say?
Have I made the most of my expectations? In some ways, yes. In other ways no.
Before you can ask if you've made the most of your life, you must first define what you mean by 'life'.
Have I lived it in its entirety? Of course not - I'm still here.
