He went In the lorry for a lark with some horses,

What did It matter? Just another of those courses.

Nigel was waiting, the belt at the ready,

Sam got mounted, hopeful but steady.

The fans gathered eager, their hopes raised high,

Wether jumps or the flat, they prayed he would fly.

The bookies they chuckled and scoffed at his chances,

The odds drifted out with each of his prances.

The tape went up, he had a good look around,

What's that there, on the other side of the ground?

He stared straight ahead watching the field,

Take off with their jockeys, their silks as their shields,

Nope, I ain't going he silently muttered,

The dashed fans tickets fell torn and fluttered.

Poor Sam he did try, to kick start the beast,

A last position was now just the least.

Next time boy, the fans they did cry,
