Nursing home stripper?

I'd like to hear what you think about this.

I'll say I think it is inappropriate. From what

bits I've heard, I seem to be in the minority,

not that that bothers me so much as I'm just curious.

I agree that It Is Inappropriate. The very reason many elderly are In nursing homes Is down to dementia. How are they supposed to understand what's going on ?

Inappropriate seems a pretty mild word.

This is something the nursing staff organized?

There would be some management people at that nursing home looking for a new job, if I had anything to say about it.

If the residents were asked if they would like to be visited by a male stripper, they would have probably responded, "We don't need our mail stripped after we get a chance to read it. We'd rather keep our letters in an old shoe box! "

I don't see a problem with it as long as all were consenting. I was going to say adults but thought it an oxymoronic thing to say.

YZGI, any of them with dementia could not really be capable of

giving consent. And the woman in question supposedly does have

at least slight dementia. She said she felt uncomfortable and that

staff there "made" her do it.

You're old, you're confused, you no longer can stick up for yourself...

I think it's just awful. The nursing homes I have experience with often

just put everybody together in a room regardless. And that's not right.

I agree Val and I think regardless of the dementia factor, It appears that none of the residents were consulted or permission sought.

Imagine If you were staying In a hotel having a nice cup of coffee In the lounge and then without consultation, some geezer comes In gyrating his Betty Swallocks In your face? I'd be outraged.

It sounds like the staff at this care home thought It would be amusing without any care or thought to residents.
