Sometimes The System Works

I've had a busy, but rewarding day today, starting with my first day Volunteering as a Computer Mentor for Age UK. Then I stopped by at my mate, Ebe's place to help him with the cancellation of his Virgin Account so as to change to TalkTalk.

A tiring day, but satisfying.

Then, I get through the door & there's a letter waiting for me. Or to be more precise, not even a note. Inside the envelope was a cheque for £175 in full settlement for the expenses I incurred for the repairs to my bike after it got nicked.

Although when the 14 year old kid got done & pleaded guilty for the theft (and 10 other accounts) the court had ruled that he was of insufficient means to pay compensation. However, I wasn't prepared to leave it at that & stood my ground by taking his Father to Small Claims, through the Civil Courts, due to his being Legally Liable.

After much faffing about & ignoring the orders, the courts threatened him with sending in the Bailiffs & although he made it last as long as possible he finally gave in & paid up.

First thing tomorrow it's down to town to pay it in to the bank. I just hope it's not made of rubber.

Perhaps there is something to Karma after all.
