Today I did something I have never done In my life before.

Have you ever done this ? Come on.. be honest.

I took the Dogs walkie's around the Royal Crescent In Bath today and walking back up the Georgian Street, I spied two, what looks like, pretty expensive, foot stools In a Skip ( Dumpster ).

I did knock on the door and asked the very nice lady If I could have them first as they'd make Ideal dog beds. She was very pleasant and told me to help myself.

You get such a better class of crap In Bath... they are hardly used. She even apologised that one had a slight stain on It...

Have you ever done this? I am really pleased with my booty but It's not something I have ever done before.

Yes, We call it Dumpster Diving.

I just found a full set of dishes - serving platter - large serving bowl - 8 piece setting with the coffee cups & gravy bowl, beautiful design - beautiful set.

I gave the set to my brother.

Last week I found 2 brand new women's leather coats - I black - 1 white

perfect condition - I'll give them to my Niece.

Many times people set items on the curb for free - found a 1950's radio.

I'll keep the radio & it works..

I find many treasures.

so - yes I skip:wah:

Most of my flat has been furnished that way.

At the bottom of the block, near the bins, is a Bulk Waste Bay, which has the Recycling Lorry come round twice a week to empty, but in the meantime it's open to anyone to browse & take anything they like. It's like a Freebie Car Boot Sale.

It really is amazing the sort of thing people chuck out. Of course the vast majority of it is real crap, but it's not unusual to get some really good stuff there. For example, a couple of weeks ago I was on my way to the doctors' & I spotted a Home Gym unit, with the rowing machine & treadmill in pristine condition. The only thing wrong with it was that the Dashboard meter was broken, so I thought to myself, "I'll grab that on my way home" (which was less than ½ hour) - by which time someone else had snaffled it.

Frequently. I never walk past a container without at least an appraising glance.
