Living alone I don't need a eight or ten cup coffee maker and instead use the Kurig one cup at a time machine with K Cups. Does a fine job but I sure miss the smell of coffee brewing. Too bad Kurig doesn't take care of that

Love coffee. My daughter-in-law uses that method & I swear I smell it brewing, for a much shorter time of course. Remember that wonderful smell of the percolators on the stove? Mmmmmmm. For some reason, I don't drink as much coffee as I used to.

I have a DeLonghi Deluxe Coffee maker... a luxury..I never use It although now and then, my husband will make me a double espresso. I'm more happy with Gold Blend but he uses It every day and will use nothing but Turkish coffee beans.... He also bakes his own bread... two smells that are music to the nostrils around the house.

I am married but in the same predicament. I really don't need six or so cups of coffee and Mrs. Dog rarely wanted any.
Never though about the aroma so I just went out and made a cup. I couldn't smell any which surprised me. Before you mentioned it I would I would have said to smell it, however little.
All the same Keurig is something of a blessing, and a curse.
I tend to forget my Cherrios in favor of a pastry.
Is nice on a cold winter evening to brew up some hot chocolate, or on a summer day brew some tea and pour it over ice. Still doesn't beat sun tea.

What happened to Kamala Harris' campaign?

My wife has one of those, I had misgivings because the price for those little cups is flat out ridiculous. So I searched around and found this:
Do you guys use these? You can use your old coffee and any kind that come afresh ground. It's reusable and washable. Now we can use the vastly cheaper bulk coffee and bonus! No filters ever again!

First time I saw a Keurig, that is what the guy was using. Never really gave it much thought. Gonna check it out.

I drink my coffee brewed in a cafetiere, one or more cups as required, and get the proper smell.
OK.....so what is sun tea ?

My coffee filter machine has a plastic mesh filter, so that the paper ones aren't required, if that's what you mean.
Whenever I make a coffee I just add smaller & smaller amounts on top of previous batches. In that way the coffee usage is maximised, otherwise only a fraction of it actually gets used.
Mind you, I remember as a kid we had one of the old style percolators which you kept on the stove, bubbling up the pipe in the middle, spitting out against a glass lid (so you could see it perking) & flowing over a fine meshed colander type pot, which would have the coffee grounds in it, before draining back down to the rest of the brew in the pot, only to repeaqt the process. In this way it would just need topping up with water & it would stay strong for ages.

Even better is the aroma of roasting coffee. A coffee house not far from us still roasts their own beans. I have made a habit of showing up for morning coffee on their roasting day.

I use the washable reuseable filters as well but still miss the smell of brewing coffee. Quality K Cups can be bought at pretty big discounts.

Mind you, they do look a bit like camping tolets.
(I wonder if that's where "Camp" got the idea)

Just like Oscar there are things that some people have to keep under their hat in case it starts a panic.

I never thought of Oscar as being a 'hat' type person - except, perhaps, on Lady's Day.

OK.....so what is sun tea ?
This is a good basic on the concept.
Sun Tea
I wouldn't wait for the outside temp to get to the 100/38 degree mark.
I have had good tea at lower outside temperatures.
It is about the Sun.

That is probably why we don't have it in the UK......we don't don't get such temperatures as a rule.

Try it on any hot day, keeping the jar in the Sun.
