Specifically, Sexual assault in the military is mentioned, but we also got tagged on a few other things.

I am sure this will get our lunatic fringe frothing at the mouth over UN infringement.

We will grow up, someday. I promise.

Call me a Wing Nut if you want, but really who cares, except left wing nuts?
What happened to Kamala Harris' campaign?
She had the black vote all locked up.

I'm not sure us left-wingnuts care all that much either.

I just found the article interesting.

This one is, as well:

Incidents of rape in military much higher than previously reported

Somehow, it seems that we might have a problem that needs to be dealt with.

So you don't care that we have a problem or you don't care that the UN thinks it a problem?

I don't think it's really a matter of whether the U.N. think it's a problem or not, rather than a matter of what the U.N. think they're going to do about it. They've already demonstrated that their opinion counts for diddley-squat, especially after Bush petitioned them for approval to invade Iraq. Approval was denied outright, yet we all know what happened next. And what could the U.N. do about it? Nothing. It's not exactly any secret that the U.S. IS the controlling force behind the U.N., and if the U.N. wants to do something that the U.S. doesn't support, then they're totally wasting their breath, and the U.S. isn't likely to show up its "Red, White & Blue Hero Vets" for the scum they really are. It's just not "The American Way".

It is not that I don't care if there is a problem.

Nothing new about accusations of sexual harassment in the military.

I'll just leave it at it is a domestic issue.

So you don't recognise any authority higher than the US Government, and their actions are beyond reproach ?
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

Domestic issues such as this is our business. It isn't like such issues are not already hotly discussed.

Well, it does pass from a domestic issue when it happens in other countries.

No they don't take part in the international criminal court for the simple reason that americamns might find themselves on trial. This from a nation that holds foreign nationals in guatanimo bay so that any american laws against imprisonment without trial (such as the constitution) can be ignored. Torture is agaisnt international law.

Don't forget our erstwhile leaders want to repeal the human rights act and stop the european courts ruling against the british government - or put another way they want to be able to imprison anyone they like witjhout due process when it suits them and stop any court of appeal against such action. We can't stop out the bastards over here so I would be loathe to point fingers at the americans but then that's whuy we need external courts.

This corrupt administration is doing irreparable damage.

Sad that we have "fundamental change" destroying the fabric of a once great nation.

Oh, no you don't.

You can't hang this on the current administration.

It's been going on since before Obama even thought about running for President.

I seem to remember the alleged "extra rendition" flights to "Gitmo" from this country too (mysterious non-domestic American aircraft making "clandestine" landings in the UK at night). I don't think anything was ever proved, though.

7 years in office and still blaming others?

I'm not surprised.

Actually it is this administration that began working to deal with the problem.

Actually, my 26 year career would show otherwise as to policy implementation, morale, and general attitude amongst the ranks and occupation specialties, but none of these experiences would provide you any reason to change your predilection.

Cheers.

It is in the nature of Politics to blame all their failings on what they inherited from the previous administration, and to glory in anything remotely resembling a success.

Yes, a heads-you-lose, tails-I-win scenario...

The problem I have with this is we treat every voting member the same.

I wonder how many of these 'nations' treat their women with any denecy?

Not to mention have women in their military?

Membership of the Human Rights Council
