Chinese teenager was left stuck after her entire leg got wedged in a storm drain.
The unnamed teenager had been walking down a street in Mianyang City, in southwest China while using her mobile phone to text a friend.
I wonder why there are not very many more bumps and grazes with people walking blindly around and about town.

It happens all the time you just don't hear about it. I've had people walk out in front of me while driving and they are on the phone I've seen cyclists on the phone riding one handed - being childish I came up behind them and blasted the horn at them the number of times you have to sidestep some idiot texting while walking is innumarable.

I don't sidestep. The look on their faces when they walk into you is often worth the bump.

Even if you do sidestep, they sometimes have you in their peripheral view and side step with you.

Do you find yourself getting in to altercations quite a lot?

Not at all. They usually are embarrassed and in a hurry to get back to their texting/walking.
Besides, I just turn so that I am not looking in their direction when they collide. Obviously, it is not I who should be watching where they are going.

Mobiles Phones, or more to the point, those who use Mobile Phones, are the bane of our existence - especially with those who continue to use them whilst driving, despite heavy penalties being imposed. Only last week I was actually hit (well, contact was made - I moved Jubbly backwards in time to avoid any serious damage) by a woman in one of those Fiat Sewing Machine type jobbies while I was waiting behind her for her to pull away one a right turn onto the main road. The thing is that the junction in question is on quite a steep hill, and there she was, with both hands on her phone, dialling out, while she was totally oblivious to the fact that she was rolling backwards straight towards me. When I told my Riding Instructor about it he said he didn't care what the Theory Test says about such instances, he would have sounded his horn & had a right go at her.
