A man and little girl seen flying an Isil flag outside Parliament on Saturday were allowed to continue by police who insisted they were 'within the law'.
Would arresting them and causing a scene played into their hands ?
Is Flag, right or wrong Police reaction ?

You would have a young child arrested for something her adult guardian, father, told her to do? I'd say she is innocent, wouldn't you?

The child wouldn't be arrested, but taken along with her father to the police station while he was arrested, for her own safety, she couldn't be left alone.
I think the police acted correctly, although the guy is now on a list and under scrutiny.

If they had done anything they would have played right into their hands allowing them to cry Racial & Political Harassment, and as they say, although offensive, they are doing nothing illegal. However, now we know who they are. As they say - keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.

When ever there are these protests, burning flags and stuff, and the right wing plead for instant arrest of hundreds of angry young men,as if there would be enough police to wade in amongst them and arrest them without a riot.........I get peeved.
The Police stand off and film, and take their time to get the best possible outcome.....later.

I think the police try to avoid confrontation where ever possible. If you remember the very distasteful show of placards, slogan shouting and general rowdy behaviour when some of our soldiers were brought back to this country in coffins and transported through the streets of Royal Wootton Bassett.
345 soldiers, killed in the line of duty were transported over a period of time, back home by transport plane to RAF Lyneham and paraded through the main street of Wootton Bassett (later - in the Autumn of 2011 - renamed Royal in recognition of the market town's role in marking such flights) , being the nearest town to the airfield. Thousands of local inhabitants just lined the road and stood in silent respect, as the cortéges passed through, each time another plane arrived with our dead soldiers on board. It was something that happened 'out of the blue' and totally unorganised. A very moving occurrence. Then came the rebellion of a gang of Muslim mal-contents wielding placards and burning poppies. The police moved them away and there were no arrests - not the right place to have a confrontation, which would have played into these mal-contents' hands of course.
Repatriatation has now been transferred from Wiltshire to RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, where the nearest town is Carterton and where the Royal Wootton Bassett tradition will be carried on.

The moment where the flag is lowered to the trumpet's salute (forgive my ignorance, but not sure of the name of that one - don't believe it's Last Post) still has me in tears. The video was also very well made for maximum effect & emotional respect.
