So the OED just released their latest update.
A list of "new words" populating (or is that polluting?) our language.
For example:
Other informal terms in this update include brain fart, bitch face, bruh, butthurt, fur baby, MacGyver, mkay, rando, and swole.

I do realize that the English language has always been a bit of a mongrel, but, has this gone a bit too far?

I'm so old that I remember when the dictionary was used to find the proper word to describe something, not what a group of teenagers were mistyping in text messages.

The addition of all these pop-words into what claims to be the ultimate authority of the language causes me a bit of heartburn.
Of course the gaudy new home page says it all.
Welcome to the 21st Century.

Oxford Dictionaries is a subset of the Oxford University Press, I think. It certainly publishes a large range of dictionaries, of which the OED is but one. The OED is only published online, and doesn't carry the newly-coined words in the article. On the other hand, it has an example of fan-girl (written by the sometime MP for Oxford University) from 1934 and "Nuff said" from the 1840s.
