House Republicans Unanimously Re-elect Paul Ryan To Lead them

Ryan has been a thorn in Trump's side throughout the campaign. It's had to be a delicate tightrope walk for Ryan.

Might this unanimous support be a signal to Trump that they're ready to go toe-to-toe with The Donald?

That's how I interpret it.

No, the whole lot of them started sucking up to the Don nearly as soon as the news broke that he was in.

Bunch of spineless, self-serving toads.

I would not mind being wrong, but don't hold your breath.

The reality is that Trump did win the election. Although, this is an unusual situation where the more progressive-minded candidate was elected as a republican and the neocon in the race lost as a democrat, politicians have an obligation to pick sides.

The wild card here are the Trump supporters. I'm waiting to wake up one morning to see someone from the republican party had been dragged out into the streets to be tarred and feathered during the night.

So far it appears as though Trump's pulled two wingnuts out of congress to serve in his administration. How long they'll last in the job is anyone's guess. At least they are out of congress. Whomever it is that ends up replacing them can't be any worse than them.

It will be fun watching as this tug-o-war plays out. Trump knows he has to buck convention if he is to be even slightly successful at changing the game, and he's going to get pushed back on hard by the establishment.

We'll see!

The rumbling among his supporters has already begun. He has backed off some of his "promises" already.

The facts that many of the things he promised require congressional action to accomplish, or that he has not actually taken office yet are falling on deaf ears among his voters.

It's gonna be GREAT!

I didn't vote for the guy.

Now he is working like somebody I might have voted for.

Of course, he is backing off some of the craziest stuff, but everybody knew he would.

Overall I am impressed.
What happened to Kamala Harris' campaign?
She had the black vote all locked up.

Computer scientists say they have strong evidence election was rigged against Clinton in three key states | The IndependentI honestly hope not. I didn't vote for either of these two people, and as much as a Pence presidency scares me (should Trump die while in office), this system needed a pin stuck in it, which is what has happened. Now let's hope Trump will follow through on his foreign policy. Because right now that's about all that matters. We need out of all these wars, and I have no problem with leaving NATO, or making nice with Russia and leaving that part of the world alone. Cut off all funding to Israel too. Cease selling military weapons to SA and Israel.
