The June 8th 2017 General Election

Post by spot »

Jeremy Corbin is scheduled to be crucified regardless of what he does. He can say no to the election and be ousted as Labour Leader, or he can say yes to the election and be ousted as Labour Leader. I suspect we're about to watch a Conservative landslide.

I shall, as always, be voting against the Conservative incumbent.

I'm trying hard to think of anyone active in British national politics who wishes him well. I may be the only party leader who would be delighted to see him form a new government this June.

The National Executive of The Common People will have to decide by this weekend whether or not to field any candidates in June. The intention was never to do so while Jeremy Corbyn led the Labour party, since he was so unlikely to last as far as 2020. The landscape shifted this morning.

Quite clearly the conservatives are set on turning us in to a third world fascist economy. The hypocrisy of someone who opposed brexit now using it to build up her own power base beggars belief.

We want a deep and special partnership between a strong and successful European Union and a United Kingdom that is free to chart its own way in the world, she said.

"That means we will regain control of our own money, our own laws and our own borders and we will be free to strike trade deals with old friends and new partners all around the world.

"This is the right approach, and it is in the national interest. But the other political parties oppose it.

Watching Corbyn with his staged 'meet the people' his disciples queuing down the street, I got the impression he has been groomed by the same person that groomed Milliband.

Let us hope there is no eating a bacon sandwich photo opportunities, and he can control that fixed smile........and of course.......that he can sell his dream to the masses.

The trouble with a second referendum is that if it says cancel Article 50, the cancellation can only succeed if all 27 other EU countries agree to cancellation. I'd not take that for granted.
