weird people and selfies

I worked at the MCG yesterday for the AFL grandfinals.

Two things ive discovered....firstly,..just allow drunk happy people that youve been looking after for hours on end to take their quick selfie with you and get it over and done with. Just think about that they are thanking you and they are making you part of their day.

Secondly....do not hire people who have no cultural understanding of an event or really want to be there. Thats how you piss people off and start fights and riots. When a security guard tells a half drunk person that queing, drinking, and sport isnt normal and a 'female' interjecting has no consequence....then you simply shouldnt be there. Fortunetly i had enough wittnesses to the event for them not to take it out on me, thank god.

What is the MCG and what are the AFL finals? I worked yesterday in Glasgow.

Pommie interpretation: MCG = bloody big sports ground (split between cricket and other sports).

AFL: Rugby/Footie cross played on a cricket ground. THE sport in Aussie - the rest are add ons.

Gmc...think of mani united plays liverpool in a soccer finals match....Huge eh?

Think of NFL finals around thanks giving time....thats huge too.

The MCG holds 90,000 patrons....it was full capacity.

Trust me its a huge event...in September.

Oh, and Richmond won. First time in 37 years
