Seriously, is it open season on men, while it is impossible to say anything negative about women without reprisal? Is it that, or is it that men are innately more respectful of women?

I'm with you clint. So this guy decides he wants to help people, and now he's being verbally abused daily because of it. What's at work here? Are the female nurses intimidated because of the foray of a man into what's supposedly a "female" environment? Well get over it, men have been dealing with women in formerly male jobs since the 1960's. I don't care who he is, if he was treated badly by these people, I hope he winds up owning the hospital.

Harassment...
open to interpretation
if a woman is harassed by a man weather she crys wolf or not ... TABOO
if a man is harassed he either sucks it up cause he is a man, enjoys it cause he is a man, or lives with being called a wimp because he is acting like a woman.
And what happens if a woman harasses a woman? A man harasses a man?
Seems all pretty one sided the bottom line is MEN DO NOT HARASS WOMEN and all the other scenarios are a mute point.
Maybe the guy is a chronic whiner and no one takes him serious hmmmmmmm

HOLY SMOKES FAR!!! (jives dons his body armor and helmet) Now we're in for it! Are you crazy man? We all think that, but don't EVER say it out loud, the girls will kill us!!!
(Jives dives into a foxhole)
by less professional I dont mean they cant do their job, I mean when the group of women get together they fight and argue amongst themselves way more than their male counterparts.
Well Far has gone and let the cat out of the bag. So I guess I might as well say it, I agree with him. In schools, most of the female teachers hang out in the teacher's lounge roasting and flaming the students, other teachers, and the men. The guys all seem to get along very well. As a matter of fact, in 12 years of teaching, I've never seen two male teachers disagree...and I can't count the number of catfights female teachers have gotten into.
I have learned one thing...stay the heck out of it...! My guess is this guy tried to get in to a group and the ladies reacted to him, he probably took sides and thats a NO NO for a guy working with women.
You pegged it, Far. He's trying to be "one of the guys" with a gaggle of girls. Never the two shall meet.
Coming from the service and the infantry where males dominate almost 100% its totally different, guys if they have tension, blow once, let it all air out and thats it, its done.
And even that's pretty rare. Women, on the other hand will continue to backstab each other for years afterward. I once broke up a fight between two girls, younger to be sure, but they are basically the same as their older counterparts. I asked one girl what started it and she replied, "She called me a b1tch in the fourth grade!" So here they were, still carrying a grudge 6 years later! Girls just can't let it go...ever.
Now that I work with women I actually like it more in many ways, but its difficult head butt a woman for a job well done, it musses their hair and they dont like it.
Which brings to my mind the relaxed," let's get it done" attitude of most guys. Forget the nitpicking little details, what really needs to be done to finish the job? Women seem to have a pair of binoculars on so that all they can see are details. Then they either react with a "Oh my God we're gonna die!" or "Who cares, it's all stupid." attitude. One extreme or the other. (Man...am I gonna get flamed for this and it's all your fault for bringing it up, Far.)
Im kidding here somewhat of course...
Yeah...heh heh...so am I. (gulp)
I may have offended a few ladies here.. but I'm callin it like I'm seeing it.
Please direct any replies to my post to, Far. (Jives points at Far Rider) He started it.

BoopboopBeeep. I'm sorry, the number you have dialed is no longer in service. Jives has moved to a small island in the Bahamas, one without women. If you feel you have reached this message in error, please hang up and don't dial it again ever.

Ghee, I go with Jives about the women in the teacher's lounge. I am one of those teacher's who does not partake of the lunchtime ritual of gossip and nagging and whining-and there is a definite male/female twist to who sits on which side, and who they are whinning about. I have definitiely avoided the lunchroom, because it only kicks them up a notch when I come in, the 4-letter words abound, the topics are very uneducational (I wouldn't want my mother to hear it) and I definitely would not want to be sitting there if a parent walked by. I have peeked down the hall and know the principal walks by and hears every word, I shall see what it is like this year. Two more weeks until meeting!:(
I stay put in my little old room, and pull up FG on the computer instead at lunchtime.

You have nothing to fear from me. I happen to agree with most of your comments. Men and women are different, go figure...lol
The problem is no one is supposed to say it out loud.
While everyone was pretending that no one was different, we still knew that we were. But different is not bad, it's just different. And if the end result is that the job is done and done right, but perhaps differently, so what?
I may have the shoulders of a linebacker from lugging computer equipment around on shoulders, but I am still a woman. I can appreciate the 'thought' behind the offer to carry my load...and the guys do it everyday. I can appreciate that they don't think i am not capable, merely smaller.
Ten or fifteen years ago, they would have been afraid to offer and I probably would have picked up additional equipment, just to prove I could. But with age and confidence comes the ability to appreciate that we are in fact different. And it is neither good nor bad, just different.
So now, once in a while, when i'm in a goofy mood, I hand off the equipment and walk away laughing as they try not to hurt themselves..lol
Because when you get right down to it, it's really about balance, isn't it?;)
Flop, after reading all those "testerone" posts, I find myself in alignment with your post the most. :-2

HaHaHa, some segway on shifting "posting gears"! Anyway, you're mistaken, I wish I owned that roadster but I don't, it's just my avitar. My racing cars did corner like they were on rails, & pulled over 60 in second, 90 in third, & 130 + in fourth!!! As they were a Jag XKE, Vette Stingray, Full Race Ford Custom Intercepter, Pontiac GTO. (Back to original thread, I still agree with Flop's post)

Woman-politics is a dangerous game. Men that try to play are 90-pound weaklings at the state dodgeball championships - they ain't got a chance. The only viable option is to just smile and nod, and try not to make direct eye contact.

I would start a riot! not intentionally, but can't keep my mouth shut if some smart aleck man makes a comment. Whether at women in general or aimed at me, they seem to think if you've got boobs you've got the IQ of road kill:wah:

I’ll never forget Norma. She was 5’2†and the only kid in my class who could take me at arm wrestling. She was calm, cool and feminine too. She didn’t join in the other girl’s games. She was an exception to the rule for sure. If Nordstrom’s thought she was the average girl they would go broke.
