Telephone Calls Answered by Computers!

Are you tired of computer responses to your phone calls, when dialing the insurance company, a store, almost anywhere! Half the time the button you need to push isn't listed, and the option of talking to a live person isn't there! It took me 45 minutes to get a response from a live person to answer a simple request to my insurance company-I only wanted a duplicate card sent! Pushing that 0 button never works, it sends you back into the system. Anyone else find this an annoying occurance that is happening more frequently?

I'm with you on this one luv, the most annoying one is where they dont list your specific query so dont have a number for you to press.

So you end up pressing any number, just to speak to a human voice only to be told, that you've come through on the wrong line and they put you back to where you started! :-5

It's typical of customer service worldwide unfortunately, and a good way of doing it on the cheap.

Oh it's worse! Now the GD thing wants me to speak to it like it's a human!

"ok! What can I do for you?" Like I'm gonna have a conversation with a complex tinker toy. Sure, I yell at the TV, speak sweetly to the car when it doesn't want to start, even talk to my own computer; but that's different! I just keep hitting either 0 or * until it gets confused enough to send me to a human, which, admittedly, is sometimes worse. :-5

There's times when it annoys the heck out of me that I can't get through to an actual live human being, and other times when it's really handy and quicker. I hate getting called by a computer and told, "Please hold for an important message". It calls me and wants me to hold? I don't think so.:-5

Your call is important to us. And, like a fine wine, we want to age it slowly, allowing it to mature in cool darkness until, at just the right moment, our kind and caring operator can select it from the vast collection of other calls we keep in storage. At that time we can sample the call to determine if it has reached it's peak of maturity. Unfortunately, we realize that, like a fine wine, some calls go sour, like venegar. *click*

I really hate that. Especially when you have to here a the list of new options. and options were the same as the old ones. And then it takes forever to get ahold of a rep. You know what i hate the most though. when I get phone calls from some people and they have the computer say please call back this number. Why should I bother. URRGH:-5

A simple way to get through to a live human being is to push the number for NEW SALES. They always want new business and will respond quickly. I then apologise an say "I'm sorry, I hit the wrong number, I wanted so and so". They will then immediately connect you to a person that can help you. Works every time for me.

Now when I call JC Penny to make an order I get a syruppy computer voice taking my order and I'm suppose to answer her to confirm what I jusy said is correct. Then she transfers me to a real person to get my charge card and address.

Also lately when I call a 800 service number I get some person in India who doesn't know diddly about lawn mowers or electric razors. We finally gave up on getting the missing special screws from a package of vinyl fencing that we were putting around our patio. I went to the home improvement store and complained and they took some out of a package that was in the dumpster. :-5

There is not much that annoys me more than this very thing. I would like to find the @sswipe who thought this was a good idea and use his butt for target practice with my pellet gun.

:-5 This is the most maddening thing these days. My arms go numb waiting or pushing numbers to get through.. just makes me spit nails. I now use the speaker phone or put my head set on if I know it may be a forever call..:-5

God forbid you push 0 before they want you to (which take you to a live person), you will be thrown back to the beginning of the forever phone call..

I don't push any button, I just hang on as if I had a rotary dial phone, and within a minute or so, finally I get to speak to a live person. It works for me most every time.

The old rotary dialed phones. I have not seen them since I was a little girl. But that doesn't work with everyone.:-5

I wonder how many people actually hold and wait for the "important message" when a computer calls them.
