Hi There! I was actually researching for some info for uni when I stumbled across FG. Have only been a member <24hrs, but already think it is great. Have really enjoyed reading some of the discussions, and even contributed to a few myself.

I'm an engineer (but don't hold that against me!) hailing from downunder. I have a fairly diverse range of interests, but particularly the environment and travelling... oh and pets - I luuurve my dog!! :-4

Anyway, looking forward to chatting with you all.... :-6

Thanks guys. Nice to hear from you.

To answer your q's, my dog is a beagle - Maddie. Very cute ;) No longer really a puppy (about 2 1/2 yrs old), but still got a puppy face. Is snoozing on the couch next to me ... snoring rather loudly!!

As for me, I'm an environmental engineer, presently working in the water industry. Find it really interesting, with lots of challenges.

Cheers

Don't worry about being an engineer. I work with acoustic engineers in the Loudspeaker industry (I'm a Production manager) and they are great guys...

Have thought about it - have quite a few friends that have done the same. But kinda decided that I'd prefer to travel for fun, rather than for work. Though I know most people manage to do both. I don't know, maybe I'd just miss my family and friends too much. But never say never right??

I'd have to say my fave thing about Aust is the lifestyle. We're a fairly laid back bunch and know how to have a good time. :yh_party

Must say I'm very envious of the history of other countries/cities - the beautiful buildings and art. We only have a very short european history, and I guess you could say that our native history (the Aborigines) isn't well understood... sad really.

btw - I think that FG is great. Am actually doing a uni assignment of 'virtual communities' so figured that I should join one and experience it. Must say that already I feel a great so called 'community spirit' already. And I'm sure I'll stick around much longer than I had initially thought.

Keep it up guys!!
