Do you have any nerdy hobbies?

I'm a huge nerd, and one of my hobbies is the weather. Meteorology, to be precise. (I'm not so fond of the perky TV weather-people.) I also sometimes like to write terrible comical erotica. Usually while I'm in a boring class.

Do you have any hobbies that you're rather ashamed to list when people ask you about your "interests"?

Thats wierd I was just thinking about a guy I knew, he would watch the weather channel morning noon and night. Every single time I went to his house he was just sitting there watching the weather.

One time his dog threw up in my shoe......after that I didnt really go there much anymore.

Ew to both statements!

I don't really like the weather channel. It's awfully glossed over, and their little "news" tidbits aren't very well done either. We have a local weather guy here who doesn't talk down to us...he'll go over the pressure systems and the fronts and he'll show us the original images that he looked at. He's very cool. And of coures, by "cool" I mean "nerdy" in the way that I like!

Well sure I think that goes without saying.

I like to watch the NASA channel when were in orbit, satellite video of the shuttle orbiting earth is pretty cool, I try to guess where they are.

Not really a hobby but I love to watch "antique Roadshow" my kid calls that Geek TV, as well I love to read and watch about how things are made, build, manufactured you know the show"how do they do that" Lovei t.

And past rather nerdy hobby I used to pen pal loads up to 50 at one time. None now but may start up again.

I collect em too used to polish them and make jewellery outta them, now I just collect them cause they look cool.

you should see the ones I brought down from mt. snowdon! I built a mini stonehenge in a glass bowl and put floating candles in it! WAY COOL!

OMG those are all I collect now, and being that I live near the mountains I got all sorts of colored ones. My fave is a lovely black and brown stripey skipper. I put them in my little fountain that I run in my bedroom.

Rave you would love the area east of me, badlands, plenty of archeology goodies there, dinosaurs hehehehehe

I don't suppose anyone remembers a set of magazines called 'Treasures of the Earth.' They had 1 issue every fortnight, which contained your own little treasure every week, and came with a 30 page booklet which had lots of interesting rock related info inside it.

Man I loved it so much that I became a member and collected nearly every issue that was printed. Cost me a lot, but heck was I pleased when a new issue came through that door.

My dad is really into Genealogy and spends hours every day looking up our ancestors and the like. Some people may class that as being a nerdy hobby, but it's actually really interesting, even for me.

My hobbie is collecting pens! Must have over 3000 different pens. My husband thinks I'm nuts.:rolleyes: Can't leave a store without adding to my collection.
