Do women with low self esteem sleep around ?

In your exeperiences do women with low self esteem have more partners than

women with 'normal' ( whatever that is) self esteem ?

I know its hard to generalise but merely after some general

thoughts/anecdotes.

it's been my observation that low self-esteem generally results in less discrimination in partners. and really low self-esteem would characterize 99% of the prostitutes i have known. ( hello, interesting first post :-2 ) however, low self-esteem is such a catch-all phrase and may manifest itself in many different ways. not always sexual behavior.

Well, think about it. "Self esteem" means your own self worth, how much of a value you place upon yourself. If you have low self esteem, your self value is low. Of course, women with low self esteem sleep around. They don't care enough about themselves to stop and think about what they are doing or what they are putting in, on or around their bodies. They have low self esteem, so they feel worthless. It only stands to reason that they are easy. All of the loving attention from the men that these women with low self esteem are getting is like a temporary bandage on their wound. It makes them feel better about themselves temporarily.

Sorry, only joined the forum tonight but I have just come across this thread and feel that I should reply.

I am in my late thirties and my self-esteem now is absolutely fine although this was not the case in my early years. However, my self-value has always been extremely high and I have NEVER slept around and have NEVER been easy!

When I was in high school most of the girls who were known for being loose had bad self esteem. They were the ones who contracted the STDs and took pregnancy tests all the time. So not only did they have lots of partners, they didn't take care of themselves, either. Now that I'm older I know plenty of girls who have had what I would see as a lot of partners and their self esteem is fine. I suppose it would depend if we're referring to "having slept with a lot of people in their lifetime" or to "having multiple partners during the same time period."

is no. It's not the number of partners they've had, it's why they've had them and if they really wanted them.

i would say low self esteem can promote sleeping around but it doesnt mean for sure that you will

depends why you have low self esteem

Well maybe a woman with low self esteem isn't so picky and can find a good range of guys that appeal to her.

Someone with high self esteem will be more picky lowering the odds on finding someone good enough.

Ooh, good point. I suppose if a lady didn't find herself sexually attractive she'd be eager for anyone to prove to her that she could be, whereas if a lady felt confident and charasmatic she wouldn't go out with the first person to whistle at her as she walked by.
