it's boxing day here, another holiday accept for retailers, it is their biggest day of the year, prices are slashed, stores open at 7am, its a mad day here in the stores...........you don't want to go there!

Yesterday I realised I didn't get everything I needed on Wednesday for today. So I went online and found Morrisons to be closed both days.Checked Sainsbury's and found a few of their stores open today. But I jumped up and down with glee when I found one store that opened at 9am as it meant I could shop before picking up my daughter.:-6

The days after Christmas, for me, is still a time of gifting.
Today I am trying to find the gifts I finally remembered I bought but forgot about. I allow myself the full 12 days of Christmas to deliver them.
It is also the time I send off my sister & BIL's gifts for a "Happy New Year".
AND, today I'm adding to this list. This year I forgot to distribute the gifts my friend sent for my daughters and grandsons...................
Also, as the time before Christmas was so very busy, I still have dinner and a gift exchange with a close friend.
The festive fun just goes on and on.................... :-6

Hubs went to work this morning and will be back around 4pm. Just lollying around today playing vid games and going online. Just went on the Yankee candle and got two large candles for a good price. Might as well have been a bogof deal.

We celebrate Epiphany in our household, and there will be one gift left to open on that day. I'll cook a nice dinner of my husband's favorite goodies. The tree will come down the next day.

Oh my goodness, I feel like a grinch!! After Christmas, I'm just so relieved that it's all done with. I couldn't do it for another eleven days. I've never really been a real Christmas fan.
I think it's absolutely wonderful, though, that you really make the most and best of the whole Christmas season.
I prefer New Year's more. The whole month of January is a really special time to me.

I'd really like Christmas to be what it was. I mean, I asked for stuff that was useful. New wool socks, new mitts, a yoga ball.
I don't like seeing these commercials for buying new cars at Christmas, upgrading to bigger diamond rings, or getting the latest electronic gadget. It kind of makes me sad.
Love and a warm pair of socks, I believe, are the best gifts. So, Christmas was still pretty good for me. :-4

Yes, lifestyles sure have changed. We are indeed a very mobile society. When my parents were young, everthing they did revolved around the church. This is no longer true for most. What happened naturally before must now be consciously worked on to make happen. Life has alot more choices now and most of us, more often than not, roll into whatever works for us. We've lost things and we've gained other things. Hopefully we've chosen well.

[My £35 3kW heater with fan heats my room in minutes in contrast to last year when the wind howled past the panes and overcome my pitiful oil-filled radiator. PROGRESS. No burns in my carpet. No need for a fire guard. Daughter proof.

I am glad its over, just the all the hype, the buying, the visiting, sooooo much involved...........
to me, we see family all year round, why is it made so special at Christmas is beyond me, everything is rushed into 3 days to see everyone!
