Hope, I wear those. It takes a bit to get used to them especially on stairs but I think you will do fine. My guy says I have old eyes too. I just tell him that they aren't old they have just seen too much. :yh_rotfl

Get the Progressive lenses with no lines for looks. They take awhile to get used to, but once you do they are all right. I have trifocals. (I didn't say that) Too many years of reading and writing long hours. (don't tell Betty)

When they asked me what I wanted the third view for, I said the distance to the back of the classroom. They measured it out, and that is what my perscription says. I can see every bit of gum chewed, note passed, everything back there. Bugs the kids to no end................:wah:

get the safety string so they don't hit the ground and in your moment of blindness you don't step upon them :driving::wah:

:wah:

I had to wear bifocals when I hit my 40's as well. You do have to get used to them. The postioning of your head when you read, when you drive, etc. ;)

Well, when I was in my mid-40's, I was diagnosed with cataracts, as I was getting to the point where I couldn't see even with my bifocals on. Everyting was blurry, and I was using a magnifying glass to read along with my glasses. Yeah, it was that bad. So..........I had laser surgery on both my eyes which did the trick for me. I only wear reading glasses when I'm reading a book for an extended period of time. Other than that, I am glasses-free. (Except for my sunglasses ofcourse.)

This reminds me of the glasses I wore for awhile when I was 12. Dad and Mom took all us kids to the optometrist, so we all wore them for awhile. Now, this was in the early 1960's. My glasses were blue and had the pointy-tip frame of that era. :wah: Like the style below;
