Handles
Why is it that in the USA shovels spades etc. do not have 'T' handles
as in the UK? surely it is much easier with a handle. Also the brown
paper bags in supermarkets would be much easier to carry with handles.
If you can give a handle to a CB radio user why not the above?

Paperbags without handles are cheaper... actually its a method to discourage the use of paper sacks... plastics cheaper and stronger and the handles are holes instead of more paper...

Actually it's a matter of choice. I have shovels & spades both with & without handles. Sometimes I use the handled tools when/as it suits the situation, like in a "loading" motion, from one place to another. I use the long non handle tools like when "digging" a hole in the dirt. Again, it's a matter of personal preference.
