Handles

Post by alan peacock »

Why is it that in the USA shovels spades etc. do not have 'T' handles

as in the UK? surely it is much easier with a handle. Also the brown

paper bags in supermarkets would be much easier to carry with handles.

If you can give a handle to a CB radio user why not the above?

Paperbags without handles are cheaper... actually its a method to discourage the use of paper sacks... plastics cheaper and stronger and the handles are holes instead of more paper...

:D

Well that about handles it.

Actually it's a matter of choice. I have shovels & spades both with & without handles. Sometimes I use the handled tools when/as it suits the situation, like in a "loading" motion, from one place to another. I use the long non handle tools like when "digging" a hole in the dirt. Again, it's a matter of personal preference.

(Oh yeah, welcome to FG)

With a "T" handle you can get a purchase with the inside of your leg on the back of your hand .........:-2

.....I'll get me coat !

You must be shopping in the wrong places!! I used to sell long handled shovels and hevils in the farm supplies shop I worked in.
