I guess, it depends how heavilly in debt he was..... no-one seems to have an idea of the exact figure do they?

And what do we propose as the message on his gravestone?
Here's my attempt: "He Wanted To Be Liked".
Someone on the BBC just compared him to Diana.

Why should Jackson take so much precedence over Farrah Fawcett!
I did mention Farah Fawcett in an earlier post but didn't go on about her as that might have been seen as derailing a thread about the Peter Pan of Pop.

Here's my attempt: "He Wanted To Be Liked". I think for all his money and fame, he was a very sad individual. I never believed the child molestation accusations. I believed more that he had a very child like mind desperate for love.
Why should he not be compared to Dianna.? She had a talent and so did he. Both were loved worldwide.

Well one thing.....hopefully his Children can now maybe live a more normal life.I know they will always be hounded by the press but after he swung his baby from that window it told me something about his mental state and IMO he should never have had those Children but there again Millions of Dollars were involved which bought them basically.
Women are bitchy and predictable ...men are not and that's the key to knowing the truth.

Whether I liked him or not, does not matter. A family has lost their son, father, brother, etc. In a perfect world, the media would leave them alone to grieve. I don't feel any more sad, or any less sad for his family as I do for Farrah's or Ed McMahon's.

He was one of a kind extremely talented his troubled life most likely lead to his death what a shame. His music will be with us forever his songs were incredible may this man/child now rest in peace.

ALOHA!!

Mr O has always refered to him as 'a flawed genious'. When anyone in the public eye passes so suddenly, it's a shock. We all lose people every day and i always remember a favourite comic of mine during one of his routines saying 'Diana died. My father died and no-one gave a shyte'. I remember thinking how very true. MJ had a unique talent that millions loved. I do hope the press will leave the family alone.

I just finished watching Larry King Live at 9pm EST.
Everyone around the world is in a state of shock for the King of Pop, the one who made video's what they are today.
They showed several of his greatest videos, and people spoke of him extremely high.
It bothered me that they showed the helicopter leaving the hospital with his body inside, as it flew to the Coroners office for a autopsy. As far as they know he did have a heart attack, but what caused it?
What really hit hard was when it landed and the coroners truck backed up to the helicopter, took out the medic-bed on wheels and showed his body covered in hospital sheets from the helicopter onto the coroners vehicle.
Jermaine had spoken briefly that in hopes the media will leave his family alone to grieve.
A family correspondence had said that Nicole Kidman's problems were little compared to Micheal's.
-Time will tell, I feel for these people, as they suffer so much and need the help of drugs etc.
...drugs are a powering means of escaping life, and its so unfortunate that there are not enough people to really help them.
and sometimes, problems cannot even be solved with help from others.
rest in peace, Michael, you were the King!:yh_brokeh:yh_pray

I agree with Bill. I have no idea why the death of a celebrity is any more sad than the death of Joe Blow somewhere up the street. So many people die every day.
The only sad thing is that so many people make it their business to care so much about perfect strangers just because they sing or can be found on celluloid somewhere. Leave the mourning to those who actually knew the person. How can you shed tears for a stranger without shedding endless tears for everyone else you don't know that just died?

I don't know Joe Blow.
I have mourned being to 24 funerals......yup, 24.......and it does not get any easier.:-5:-5
so never tell me I haven't suffered and mourned.
When you have grown up with one of your favorite singers, actors, actresses etc.....you do tend to care........if you cared in the first place.

May I ask Koan why you think that people cry more for celebrities than Joe Blow?
Why should I not mourn for a celebrity that I appreciated?

Because if I tell someone my neighbour died of cancer people express Hallmark sympathy. If I tell them Farah died of cancer they get emotional.
Go ahead, mourn. I'm just expressing my opinion on the matter.

You're joking right? He was my first major crush in life. He was shy and endearing and he sang to me. And Thriller? Please:rolleyes:
People mourn what he was to them and the reference marks he left in their lives, the memories that he evokes.. I'm sad for the loss of a young boy who gave me hope and dreams again, if only in my head and heart.
You don't have to know him. I didn't know him in the past several years. But when someone captures your heart and dreams, even if only for a moment - it's natural to mourn their passing.

When someone dies the highest praise you can give them is to hold the same opinion of them that you did when they were alive.

I understand why people get emotional. They may not know them but theyve made a personal connection through the way the celebrity has made them feel. Music is a powerful source of energy, many songs Ive heard equate to moments or periods in my life that may be also emotionally charged. It seems natural to feel connected with the source of the music because theyve effected you.
Or growing up with a movie star that brought enjoyment may be a nostalgic experience. Nostalgia is kind of like re-visiting parts of your life. Its probably more about the way they made you feel through the years than true mourning. In some instances many people may never make that connection in real life with real people.
Make sense ?

It's difficult ot explain but remember that MJ music spanned 30 years. We grew up on him and many of his songs stir memories in real life. They always will. When you have played a guy's music for 30 years, that's a huge part of your life and if anyone has ever seen him live as Mr O has on several occassions, you will know just how genious he was.
I have sat up all night listening to the tributes and i think it was 'P Diddy' who said 'MJ made me FEEL the beat' and i can identify with that. For one man to make people FEEL that beat is a truely awesome talent and genious.

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.
WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

No, I don't think a lawsuit can progress once one party has died. As you say, his clothes, possessions and property will be sold off and his estate will still be collecting royalties, so I imagine his kids will be okay.

Here's my attempt: "He Wanted To Be Liked".
Someone on the BBC just compared him to Diana.
I think the worldwide grief in the next week will resemble the week following Diana's death. I think they'll be singing, prayers and candlelit vigils outside his current home and outside Neverland and any other places associated with him.
While I personally, belong to the camp, in regards to MJ, I was heartbroken at the death of Diana and so can understand the feelings of MJ fans when someone who was an Icon to you passes.
Do you remember all the MJ fans who descended on FG a couple of years ago? They, and millions of others, are going to be devastated and will mourn him loudly from now until his interment. I'd put money on it.

I'd put money on it. Very true words. Mr O has been a huge fan for years. During the child molestation charges, he switiched himself off from that area and concentrated on the music that no-one can deny was sheer genious.
My life hero is actually Mick Jagger and i've always dreaded the day when i hear that he's gone so i can relate to how Mr O is feeling. As he has just said to me, it's the idea that nothing new will ecer be heard from him again and it's future music and genious that has died along with him.

Reports in the Sun suggested that Jackson may have collapsed after an injection of Demerol, a powerful painkiller that can in certain circumstances increase the risk of cardiac arrest. The singer became addicted to Demerol and morphine during his 2003 trial for child sex abuse.
"Shortly after taking the Demerol he started to experience slow shallow breathing," the newspaper quoted one source as saying. "His breathing gradually got slower and slower until it stopped."

While it's true that nothing new will ever be heard, it's also true that his music will never be forgotten. Like Elvis, John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, there'll be tribute bands/singers, Best Of albums, cover songs from other artists. Some of it may be different, it may be good or bad, but his music will never die.
After all, people still listen to Mozart's music and he died 218 years ago. I'm sure MJ's music will be remembered long after we're all gone . . . and that's what people will remember . . . his music.

this is a cool link of front pages of newspapers around the world and how they choose to depict MJ
The sadness of it is the tiny pics and captions about Farah as though MJ's death has overshadowed hers. Makes me rather sad.
BTW the sparkle glove is my hometowns newspaper

Google says that Michael Jackson's personal physician was with the singer when he died.
I guess if you can pay a personal physician then they will prescribe what you need or what you feel you need. :-3
Police towed the car of a doctor from Jackson's home today, saying it could contain drugs or other evidence that may offer clues in his death.
