ALOHA!!

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

Her's actually went quite well in both intensity and duration.

And how did i earn her wrath? I offered to go get her ice cream to help her feel better after she had awakened sweaty and miserable :-5

My husband earned my wrath by looking sicker than I did. The nurses wanted to send him to emerg. I guess he lost it when they said I might die...or something. I don't know. I was having too much fun to notice. I wanted egg nog.

Godiva Girl wrote: Bravo LC, I can't even get a date, much less have a guy to complain about. Ok now I am going to vent. This is an issue that really bothers me. Women who complain about their boyfriends and husbands. Not all but a good deal of the complaints I hear they have no reason to complain about. If you have someone who treats you good and loves you and you are still not happy, then leave them. I can't stand it, the whining because he won't take out the garbage or the boyfriend that doesn't call every 2 hours. I have very little sympathy for people with relationship problems- exept of course women who are abused and are having a difficult time getting out of the relationship. I am almost 30, have never been in a relationship, told I am very attractive but am overweight, I haven't had a date in years and the ones I did have I had to practically force them to go out with me. Now, I have found out that due to a serious female condition I have, I cannot carry a baby, I have always wanted a baby girl. And it gets better, all of my family members my age are married or engaged and my female cousins have all had baby girls. I know that there are alot of people that have it worse than me, but don't complain unless you have something real to complain about. Godiva Girl...trust me when i tell you there is a man for you who will look past any superficial weight issue and see the lovely person inside. when the time is right you will meet him. attractive means many things. and a REAL man wants a lot more than packaging. the kind of man you want is more intelligent and thoughtful than that. just be yourself and the right guy will notice. :)

:D I just realized that if you add an apostrophe and make the title "What is annoying, you?" that my answer would be "Yes. I am very annoying"

I think I spent too much time on the big word threads. Either that or I was dreaming of anastrophe and it threw me off. :sneaky:

Thanks for correcting me, DARLING, rather you than someone else.

Godiva Girl wrote: I just want to say thanks to everyone who put in a supportive post for me last night. You guys are truly a special group. It's not so much that being single that bothers me, it's the comments that people make. The right person will come along when the time is right. And when you think about it, how many people do you know that are truly happy with their partner or in their marriage. I would rather have 10 or 20 years of wonderful, than 30 or 40 years of unhappiness with someone.
My daughter is very beautiful, and over-weight. If her weight ever bothered her, then I would hope that she takes steps to slowly, healthfully change it - as I would hope she would work to change any aspect of herself that she isn't proud of. That's entirely up to her. She's quite beautiful inside and out as she is. She also lives in Chicago, btw.

In some ways this has hurt her very badly as people can be so cruel. In other ways it has taught her to be strong and to accept herself. The same for you. :) So in many ways, the two of you have a step up on lots of other people, who really can't or don't accept themselves.

I don't know about you, but I'm going to try to eHarmony thing. I like the idea of only dating those who are potential husband material, that I can pick and choose without emotional commitment. That sounds terrible! What I mean is that I'd prefer to know their values, goals, lifestyle, personality, needs, and wants BEFORE I get emotionally attached. That way, I'm not taking a person who has habits I just can't live with, and vice-versa.

The world is very big. It's silly to think there isn't a wonderful man out there who would love us for us, with all of our quirks, talents, and shortcomings. I think we should be smart about how we "shop" for this man. :)

You'er a sweet one, Godiva Girl. Don't let anyone tell you different.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

BabyRider wrote: I feel for all you guys! Here's my load of crap: My car got stolen Friday night. Matt and I were at the clubhouse, in a particularly nasty part of Detroit, but the people in the neighborhood know it's a biker club, and generally steer clear. And, there are surveillance cameras on the lot and I watch them constantly. Well, I was shooting pool, and looked up at the monitor, and couldn't see it. I asked Matt if he moved it, and he said no and came to look at the monitor with me. He points to part of a car we can see on the monitor, and says "There it is" so I said "You DID move it" and he's telling me he didn't. I said "Matt. My car is not where I left it. I parked under that light, right in front of the camera, and it's not there." He thought I was messing with him! We went out to the lot, (I would have already been out there, but the doors are locked all the time, a member has to let anyone in or out) and sure enough, my damn car was gone. We called the cops, and the phone rang and rang, and I was so cracked, I threw my phone down and asked Matt to call someone. He gets through finally, and we learn that they will not come to us, we have to go to the police station. So we go. It's not till we get there that they tell us I have to have my title and proof of insurance to file a report. Which, of course, is at home. Well, it's 4:00 in the morning by now, and we aren't going home and coming all the way back. So we get up Saturday, and go down again, and it takes an HOUR just to file the damn report. Needless to say, I will not see my car again, and I only had PL and PD insurance. So. I'm out a car. Some REALLY brave or really stupid crackhead has my car, and they'll find it a month from now stripped and on blocks. :yh_angry

Oh yeah, and I didn't get the job at the clinic. I've had a wonderful weekend,

thanks.

BR Sorry about your car, I know how you feel, sort of being like "violated". My car was stolen right in front of my Mother-in-laws house in NY. I parked there after a family wedding, and spent the night not to have to travel back to CT. The Cops came "3" hours after we called them saying that most likely the car was already "chopped up into parts", or on its way "Overseas" as there is a demand for big cars there. (It was a "mint" Riveria) (We had to "rent" a car so we could get home)

(Also, sorry about the Clinic Job, they were so foolish not to select you!)

wow what a great thread LC and I hope it remains successful and helpful for all us gardeners. I am happy to say I am glad I did not find such a place to vent a year ago our you all may have had me committed hehehehe Thank goodness for life changes. I guess right now my biggest rage is the incompetence of some folks I have dealt with in the legal profession. I will try and keep this brief, but last September I was in mediation over my divorce and in the end I was the looser as the ex has chosen the "I am on disability and not making money therefore there is none for you to get" trip. His lawyer even wanted to deny me spousal support after 17 years of marriage and 1 year of me staying home with the kids just prior to our split. Here In Alberta one must attend a parenting after separation course sponsered by the Government and basically it is 2 evenings where they go on about how to manage your separation and keep the kids unscathed. So I took it and one of the speakers was this fast talking lawyer who was the lawyer for the ex. He could talk your ear off and he had all kinds of things about kids and came across as this huge child advocate guy. Sooo I suffered through this with this idiot and got my certificate and carried on with my divorce. So back to mediation with him, the ex, me, my lawyer and the mediator and ex judge. In the end I was awarded spousal support, and of course child support is mandatory. I was then asked if I would kindly drop MEP (the Alberta Government Agency that goes after delinquent people when they do not pay their support) I said to the lawyers and the mediator "Why, this man over the past 2 years has refused to pay close to $50,000 in taxes, and has refused to pay my support and now you think I should trust him and drop the agency" They basically said he has proved he is reliable. Well folks stupidly I did so, and now today 4 months later I have to say I have been paid a big F*** All. Even after it going to court and becoming a court order this man refuses to pay me one cent for his children. I am quite able to make it on my own which is not bad considering just over 2 years ago I was unemployed and had not worked my profession for over 5 years. I am torn between making this man my life enemy and going back to the agency to go after him, or ride it out, keep it peaceful and hope he gets it together soon. I do know with it being a court order he is legally bound to this contract eventually.

Stay cool 'til 'eventually' arrives one way or the other? I'm pretty sure you know how to play it by ear... er... unh... ?

I want to complain about lawyers that talk out of both sides of their mouths. Oh? Yeh! Stupid idea! Lawyers Sardonically referred to by the British as "liers". I want to complain about injustice being so rampant in the world.

Thanks Kensloft, I am doing my best to do so.

Yes my advise to all who wish to separate and eventually divorce, fight amongst yourselves until you reach the point (1 year later roughly) that you have hashed it out on your own, then go to the lawyers to sign it all off. Do not use the lawyers through out, it is much to costly and the annoying thing, he who can afford the better lawyer always wins. I mean I could have taken this all to court and maybe won put I did not have the moneys.

Was that a request or a prerequest?

We sure don't need date finders, what we do need is a witch, no I don't mean you gals when challanged hormone'aly, but a real live, wicked, spell throwin, witch that can take a car theif and turn him into a car- classic Buick for Cars, maybe for Baby rider, a 'vette, + a spell that turns the animal clinic manager into a constipated snake. Maybe give the deadbeat hubby a trim job on his pride and joy everytime he's late with child support. --I'm thinking we could keep her busy.

I am considered by some to be a witch. So I guess I resemble that remark. But only a vague resemblance. Bad karma to think you know the best retribution. It is being taken care of it...just not always quick enough for our liking and not always in a way we can recognize. There are some ways to speed up the process though :D

kensloft,

Is that an attempt at bragging or your idea for a punishment?

Either way... :yh_shame

I never did mean anything more than proving that dreams can come true.

Aha! Der Wulfe set me up! Slime bag. I'll get him for this. Chastized for being a parrot. (see forehead thumping taking place)

Never again willI allow myself to be aken in by his mild wolfish manner. One more time and I'll suck up to lc and put the cur out of its misery. Grrr-grrr.

Judging by the "are you a common person?" thread, being ordinary is quite the accomplishment these days. :D

Wolf, your son's work is great. And thank you, you've made me feel a lot better about my work, that I am not the only one that people pull this stuff on. I am also in a profession where I order custom made materials for people, but if they reject it, I can't sell it to anyone else.

A woman got an eye exam and ordered a pair of glasses from me, and paid a $150 deposit for them (we always ask for enough in advance to cover materials). when she came to pick them up, she told my optician (I wasn't there) that she didn't like the glasses, and she found that she could get them cheaper somewhere else, so she wanted her deposit back, and the prescription I wrote for her, so she could take it to where she could get it cheaper.

Smartly, my optician wrote a detailed note about their conversation. I called the lady and offered to re-check the prescription (at no cost to her, that's customary) and offered to remedy as far as possible whatever it was about the glasses she didn't like (even if it cost me another $100- then I would lose money, but I would have done everything possible to make it right). But I wouldn't refund more than $50 because she had ordered custom lenses I had paid for in good faith in filling her order. (I could still return the frame to stock). She refused to accept that, and argued with me around and around, and I could feel myself losing my cool because it was clear that the woman was trying to cheat me, while accusing me of wrongdoing, saying, "Is this the way you do business?" Before I would say something unwise, I gently hung up on her (I very rarely do that).

When she comes in to harrass me, I will kindly repeat my offer to re-check and redo the glasses if needed, but I won't refund more than $50, and I'll show her the detailed note my optician wrote where she said she could get it cheaper elsewhere. My prices are lower than most- but that's not the point. The time to price shop is before you agree to purchase custom work, not after.

Let me be the first to ofger up an exact address of the low lifer in my life... hehehehehe

We could try Koan, but I think she's much too nice. Thinking more of a Leona Helmsley, or Barbara Boxer -with PMS, and a bad hair day. Lorena Bobbit might qualify, however she would have to modify her technique. :D

I've got a couple of little snippy girls that go to the high school here. Luckily none of them are in my class. They continually throw trash out of their car and complain when I make them walk ten feet to the trash can and throw it away.

They speed through the parking lot . Every day. I've warned them so many times I can't count that high.

Finally, the other day, I wsa in a good mood and their car drove by making a squealing noise, combined with a clunking noise. I called out to them, "Your car's making a noise. You'd probably should get that checked out."

They yelled back out the window, "Go F*** Yourself!" I sure wish they went to my school, because their principal refuses to do anything about them.

I very rarely dislike any kids, and vice versa, but these two really burn me up.

My only consolation is that both their lives are in shambles. But then...

"comes around... goes around". Eh?

A little adolecent power tripping going on there, you know the old saying Jives, negative attention is still attention.

Pity they are not diciplined at their own dang school.

Skittles, I have to agree with you there, that is just stupid. I grew up being educated for 4 years along side a student who was a Native American. He was a brilliant kid I knew him for 6 years and he excelled at school and he was the only native American in my school. I moved and lost track of him, but in my world I always was aware of the fact they are not to be stereotyped and continue to this day to tell my children this. The portrayal of our Native people over decades is appauling even though there are a great many social and cultural issues that drive many to the streets in drunkeness and drug abuse. I blame society 100% for this crap.

Skittles go and make a big ass difference and prove people wrong with their stupid prejudices.

We all bleed red blood therefore we are all humans. No prejudice there.

I have to suggest this when it comes to prejudice (oooo you got me on a tear now)

Joe Prejudice curses "damn those f***ing *******'s I hate them all.

My respponce to Joe Prejudice, "hey Joe if you were lying on a hospital bed and your only life saver was a couple gallons of blood as a transfusion would you take it?" If he answers yes, then tell him "it's ******'s blood, are you still going to take it to save your life.?""

That ought t shut him up.

Good thing you are Native American. You should see what Hollywood does to Mexicans! Count your blessings and be sure to let them know that they are a bunch of jerks. Tell 'em often enough and they should realize that everybody is looking and they aren't fooling anybody but themselves. Keep carrying on. :-5
