You can't please everyone all the time. In RL, either people like me or they don't...if they don't, so what? I probably wouldn't waste any effort on them anyway!
As long as you're not setting out to rile people up (which you don't) I can't see the problem.
Ditto.

One of the things that have always appealed to me here is that people are open to say what they think and we all have the choice of agreeing, not agreeing, ignoring or not reading at all.
I might be a bit twisted but I like that people can have an arguement and remain polite if not friends. I think it would be a shame if this normality and a true reflection of rl was watered down for fear of causing offence.
If something needs to be said privately it can but it's more fun if we can all watch:sneaky:
There are threads that don't interest me, there are people far more intelligent that I wouldn't even consider getting into a battle of wits with (mainly 'cos I'd be unarmed), there are the cultural differences that make understanding each other a challenge sometimes. And I'll be very honest here, I haven't had much contact with people from other countries and I had prejudices and stereotypical images but by being here they have changed (for the better):)
I've probably gone completely off subject here but you'll have to blame my country upbringing - not quite Deliverence more Vicar of Dibley.

I think I must be losing it!! Hate to think of anyone giving Hammy a hard time. Gee, she's such a sweet girl. Who could ever give you a hard time, Hamster??????
As everyone's already said hundreds of times, we are a very diverse group in here. And it's probably good for all of us to be exposed to views of the world which differ from the ones we were brought up to. It has to broaden our outlook. Good for us all to know there are different senses of humour, different usage of words, different lifestyles.
Aussie humour tends to be laid back and dry. We take the mickey (send up) everything, EVERYTHING, especially ourselves. Laughing at oneself is an aussie thing.
Mea culpa on the innuendo etc. That's a personal rather than a national thing. Inherent part of the pamness of pam. :sneaky:

There are times someone will make a comment to me on the boards here, and I'm stumped as to what the hell they just said. And I usually just sit here like a bump on a log wondering what it was supposed to mean. And then I'm to worried of looking like a numnut to ask what they meant by their comment. So if I have ever offended someone by not replying to a comment you made to me, it's cause I had no clue what you meant.

I read and follow the religious threads. dont post on them because they usually end up a debate on who's wrong. i have seen one poster's beliefs picked apart and shredded several times. Instead of sharing opinions and beliefs it turns into a bashing eachother for being different thread. I wish everybody could state their beliefs and opinions without being jumped on for it.

I've experienced that before on another forum and it caused me to just end up being unable to post, because it just is so frustrating. Thing is, IMHO, debating is about putting your own beliefs and views out there, allowing others to see a different side perhaps, but condemning someone or degrading them for having a different interpretation is not only uncalled for, it's childish.

No one's ever tried to lecture me via pm, that I remember. I think part of it is that some people are more comfortable doing that to a woman than a man. I don't pretend to get the politics of women. Post what you wish, within your parameters of what you would say in public. You should be fine.

You'll have to ask JB or Sunny to be sure. I'm afraid I'm a little biased in this area.

Several read at FG and never post their opinions in fear of the attack - or their opinion miscongrued. Everyone's entitled to their opinion - speak freely..
I must have thick skin - I take comments humorous before hurtful.

I love watching the interactions here on the board, as Imladris (or was it Hammy?) who said: you can PM your differences but it's much more fun to watch!:D
Differences? Express yourself, take your lumps, get up and wipe yourself off, and get on with the next thing.
I usually don't comment on things unless I feel strongly, and then the words come tripping out before I can think of a more "polite" way to say it, so I feel I sound "shrewish" sometimes. (Funny, you don't look shrewish
)
It's 4:30 am and I can't sleep, so if this doesn't make sense, don't PM me. Tell me here so everyone else can watch too!!:wah:
