have you ever been disillusioned?

You can read can't you? Who do you think paid for your education unless you went to private school you have benefited from the system you are now paying in to. Ever had any childhood illnesses? who do youi think paud for our treatment? Come the day when you are old and decrepit and you need long term care then no doubt you will enjoy being a drain on the system.

My son was ill while on holiday last year and he needed an operation in the middle of the night. He was in for a week. We made the decision that we would not fly home for medical care we would stay in Cyprus. While our insurance covered the cost I would happily pay through the nose for medical care like we got over there. They put us to shame 100 times over. When I'm old I'll have to sell my house to pay to stay in a nursing home so I'll pay for it myself. I'm sure I'll enjoy that

Why can't she claim?-no forget that it's private. But who is paying for her treatment? If she's going privately it's her choice and no doubt when the money runs out she will expect free treatment on the NHS.

Yes its private which is why I haven't elaborated on the sick bast**d who thought I'd made the story up in a previous post. Her and her husband have lent money from his parents to help pay going private rather than wait. At the moment the tumor is the size of an orange and they'll get it in time before it goes any bigger. I've no idea if its cancer so any further treatment may or may not be needed

but one thing - regardless of tony martin or the woman that smithy87 mentioned....

you agree that the little whatsits shouldnt have been in their house or damaging their property...... yet they have a right not to expect us to defend our property and home...

say someone broke into the house of a man and wife but they let the burglar move around because they didnt think their lives were in danger...... then he came into their bedroom shot the husband and raped the wife....

you just dont know whether someones going to be dangerous and to what extent..... they shouldnt be on your property and maybe killing them is a little extreme but i dont think a damn good hiding would be out of place or a shot in the knee!! but if we did that before this 'imaginary scenario' took place the courts would frown on us and say we werent acting in self-defence and yet the people who broke into your home would probably be freed and sent for counselling after their trauma

i know eveyone says its easy to just sit and whinge and yes it is, i dont make a habit of it, and if i thought i could make a difference i would but to be quite honest theres so much red tape everywhere i dont think i could do diddly squat and as proven by these posts theres always disagreement about what everyone wants anyway!!

I don't have an answer for every scenario that you can invent, suffice to say, it's all a matter of degree i.e. IMO it would be acceptable for an frail OAP to stab a burglar, where as it would not be acceptable for a 16 stone kick boxing champion to stab a 10 stone teenage burglar.

I'm going to duck out of this thread now, as we seem to be going round in circles.

to whoever else who wants to listen (!) if there is anyone (!) - a burglar is a burglar and if they werent doing something wrong they wouldnt be facing getting their behind kicked! regardless of whose house they break into or how old the burglar is. how do you know the teenage burglar isnt a kick boxing champion?? and its precisely the old lady who cant defend herself

trying to qualify this is exactly like asking how longs a piece of string, every answer and scenario is different but at the end of the day the fact remains the burglar is in the wrong, knows he is doing something wrong and should therefore be prepared to face the consequences. if someone broke into my home i wouldnt stop to ask them how old they were and why they were doing it, i would want them out of my home and do anything necessary
life is what you make it

my boyfriend just proposed to me (05/05/05) and im blissfully happy!! :-4 im engaged!! i have a fiance!! :-4

um..... well thats a bit out of date! im married now! and married life is the best thing in the entire world! with my husband by side my life is complete
