And BTW thanks for the welcome everybody! I often stray into the politics & religion discussions on boards devoted to other subjects, so I thought I would try to find a board for this type of discussion itself, I like what I've seen so far :guitarist

Sorry, I should have said welcome. Yes some people do try and turn science into a religion, also some people try and turn "Star Wars" into a religion, I perceive them both to be about the same in terms of the depth of their arguments. Science is not, and cannot be a religion, it is a highly effective means for examining the physical universe, nothing more and nothing less. Philosophy is the secular discipline that trys to give "meaning" to the universe, not science per se.

Ten Myths/Ten Truths About Atheism

I feel science lets us down. In terms of true exploration, they are still on the outer realms of discovery. Today there do not seem to be that many discoveries in terms of out of this world phenonama. It all still remains in this world or frame work of this worlds existence. Science rarely admits to other dimensions or spirit, even God. Due to many believing less and less in God or Buddha, science came along and filled a void. Many sceptics I see in the world, spend much time disprooving the unknown. They work within a mind set-limited to a non believing mode.

I guess it can only be here when aetheism is here. It can fill the non beleiving void we have today.

Science is quite limited and detracts peoples faith from the mysteries.

Of course it can still show some good discoveries so its not all bad. Its just restricted .
