Has anyone cared enough to share the truth about Heaven with you?
The Holy Bible describes Heaven as a beautiful place where people live forever with no death, sorrow, sickness and pain. {Revelation 21:4}
Hell is described as a place of suffering forever for all those who are not saved. {Matthew 13:50}
The good news is that about 2000 years ago Jesus Christ(God the Son) paid for everyone's sins or wrong doing by dying on the cross and rising from the dead after three days. {Mark 10:34}
God the Son came as a sinless man. {Philippians 2:5-8}
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto God(The Father), but by me." {John 14:6} He is our ONLY way to God(The Father) in Heaven.
The Holy Bible says, "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God(The Father) raised Jesus Christ from the dead, you will be saved." {Romans 10:9}
You should not wait until later to get saved because you may die before you get another chance and you will miss Heaven.
If you want to be sure you will go to Heaven after this life is over just pray a meaningful prayer like the one below with your mouth and from your heart right now to God and you will be saved.
Dear God I want to be saved. Dear Jesus Christ Son of God I want to make you my personal Lord and Savior. Please forgive me of my sins or things I have done wrong in my life. Thanks Jesus Christ for taking my punishment for my sins by shedding your sinless blood on the cross and dying for my sins. Jesus Christ I now confess you as my Lord and believe in my heart that God(The Father) raised you from the dead. Amen.
If you just allowed God to save you then welcome to the family of God because you are now a Christian on your way to Heaven.
Now that you are saved, you should strive to live a godly life and you also need to be reading the Bible for yourself. The Bible is essentially God's instruction manual for how to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to God. A good place to start reading the Bible is the first chapter of Romans. You should also find a Christian Church to attend in your area.
Have a good day,

If I don't do this in time, before I die, I'll spend eternity in "a place of suffering"? This is the way the universe is really governed?
Do I spend eternity in "a place of suffering" if I've accepted Buddhism instead of Jesus Christ? Or if I'm a devout Hindu? Or I'm a practicing Zoroastrian? Does God have "a place of suffering" set aside for me in that circumstance too?

The clear teaching of Scripture is that Jesus was impeccable - Jesus could not have sinned. If He could have sinned, He would still be able to sin today because He retains the same essence He did while living on earth. He is the God-Man - and will forever remain so, having full deity and full humanity so included in one person as to be indivisible. To believe that Jesus could sin is to believe that God could sin. Colossians 1:19, "For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell." Colossians 2:9, "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."

Sorry to disapoint you but Christianity does not have exclusive right to the truth - other religions show different aspects of God and different ways to salvation.
The concept of "my religion saved, everyone else damned" is responsible for most of the ills of the last two thousand years.

Shouldn't this topic be in the religion section? As a Humanist, I want to respect everyone's beliefs, but we have a religion section for a reason.

At least put the words "religious message" at the beginning of the title. But really, it shouldn't have been posted here in the first place. ronald205nc would have gotten a more positive response if it had been.

He's had an entirely positive response, from me at least. I do hope he comes back and evangelises over me.
Putting something in General Chat means he'd like a general chat about it. Filing it in a specialist area would lead to an entirely different discussion.
I expect the mods decided that it was being generally discussed rather than prayed over or analysed.

The Holy Bible describes Heaven as a beautiful place where people live forever with no death, sorrow, sickness and pain. {Revelation 21:4}
Hell is described as a place of suffering forever for all those who are not saved. {Matthew 13:50}
No sign of any man-made control by fear mechanism here is there ? :yh_rotfl

And most of humankind goes to the wrong place, apparently. Bloody incompetent Grand Architect of the Universe, if you ask me. How can anyone screw up that badly?

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington
chemistry mid term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the
professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course,
why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.
Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs
heat)?
Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law, (gas
cools off when it expands and heats up when it is compressed) or some
variant. One student, however, wrote the following:
First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need
to know the rate that souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are
leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell,
it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.
As for how many souls are entering Hell, lets look at the different
religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that
if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there
are more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more
than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.
With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls
in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of
the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the
temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has
to expand proportionately as souls are added.
This gives two possibilities:
1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter
Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until
all Hell breaks loose.
2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in
Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.
So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my
Freshman year, "...that it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with
you.", and take into account the fact that I still have not succeeded in
having sexual relations with her, then, #2 cannot be true, and thus I am
sure that Hell is exothermic and will not freeze.
The student received the only "A" given.
