DING DING DING!!! :D

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

911, you guessed it! It's a mezuzah. Jewish people affix this to their doorpost. It contains a prayer scroll.

Ok, actually the parchment scroll inside is called the mezuzah, but a lot of people (including me) are in habit of calling the box a mezuzah. They come in many styles, from very decorative to rather plain.

Some info about them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mezuzah

http://www.beingjewish.com/mitzvos/mezuzah.html

Good going, 911!! :-6

A Tesla Coil?
The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

Boo, you are too close to the correct answer for me to not give it to you!

These things are called netsukes. They were usually fastened to a person's obi (kimono sash) and they held various things, such as money or snuff.

Wiki says this about them:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netsuke

Good for you! :D

And Indian Princess, that was a really good guess you had too!
