I think Red said it best, between friends in a joking manner can be acceptable, but I'm old fashioned too. Come to thinnk of it, I'm just plain OLD! :-2 I have issues with many "foul" terms used these days, especially toward women. I'm one that still opens car doors for ladies and whoever happens to be right behind me when I get to a door. My parents were big on teaching manners, and kindness. Its just part of life for me, an instinct now I guess. I even have a problem when I see a man get out of a vehicle and start walking into a store while his wife is left to open the door and then trail behind, To me this says "you are not my equal woman"

I was taught to hold the door, and open the door for ladies not because they are inferior, but out of respect for them. The mo I think of how thymes have changed, the mo disgusted I am in people. And I especially feel sorry for the females since they are trashed like dirt if they are not a "10"

 I recall a trip to the clothing store with my wife about 8 years ago, and when we arrived in the parking lot many of the store employees, mostly female were outside enjoying a break. I got out of the car, walked around and opened the door for my wife, she got out and I closed the door behind her. For this I received a kiss, and an applause from the store clerks who were outside. Have we strayed so far from being gentlemen that now we are spectacles, an oddity? Good grief Charlie Brown, be a man! JMO
