Zero problem with pregnancy at any age..

Jumbo problems with finding it more important to be vice president then to protect that child as much as possible from the crap that girl's having to put up with right now!

Well, at least she wouldn't be the first politician to resign from becoming vice president.

I do have a problem with a pregnancy at a young age. Now - 2008..??

Certainly a politicians daughters.

Issue of Pro-Life is one thing

Knowing what your High School Age Daughter is doing ? making sure there's structure -rules - respect etc.. Goes back to the question - will this be overwhelming? 17 yrs. old - did Palin speak openly with her daughter @ sex and what NO PROTECTION.

Perhaps being Gov. has taken her away from the family - she's out of the loop.

Husband is a fisherman - he's out of the loop.

So, I'm assuming there's a Nanny bringing up the kids..? Is She Pro-Life ??

I actually see Sarah resigning from her VP nomination ? Possible?

What do you think ?

That'll be one for the History Books

I think Palin is definately out of the loop regarding her teenage daughter's. She is also an advocate for abstinence before marriage. Somebody dropped the ball. I myself have an 18 yr old daughter and have always talked to her about this issue.

If Sarah resigns it won't be the first time a VP nominee has dropped out. George McGovern had a guy on his ticket and it came out that he was getting laser shock therapy.

You're not getting MY point K. They come knocking on MY door and I have a daughter going through this, I'm gonna make a point to stop and consider whether it is worth it to me for her to be thrust into the spotlight like this in an attempt to take me down politically.. Going after her personally - I say stand up and flip off the world... to know that your daughter is going to be thrown out there as a weapon... yikes! Obama and everyone else can say that families are not to be dragged in... we all know they will be..

Not worth it to me for a moment... for her, it apparently was. I'll judge her on that choice.

Flop

we agree - and are saying the same thing.

It seems the family has taken a back seat to her Political career.

And the Family as a Unit agreed & 100% support for her to pursue her career. ?? Which is a huge adjustment for all.

When did Sarah find out her daughter was pregnant ? I never did hear that..??

It'll be interesting on how this plays out.

I think she'll resign .. You need leather skin for Politics..

I am a white republican woman and intend to vote for Obama. Everyone seems to think that Obama doesn't have enough experience to be president. How much exp. did Geo.W. Bush have? How much did Dwight d. Eisenhower have? Serving on the senate does not seem to carry a lot of weight as there are a lot of x political canidates that did not make it that were senate members. It is what you have in your brain and the right people you have serving in your cabinet. A lot of Gov.'s have been duds as far as I'm concerned as presidents. As for Sarah Palin as a v.p. canidate, that is the biggest joke of the year. So she has five children, my mother had six and did not qualify her. So she won a beauty contest and was pres. of the PTA. Woo-Hoo. What are you people thinking about. Our country is going down the tube right now, I shudder to think what will happen if McCain would win then die while in office. Is Sarah going to run the pres. office like the P.T.A.? Just because a woman can stand before a crowd and with very strong demeanor and wave her hands does not convince me she is qualified.:-5

As for my daughter I have already discussed these issues with her and if she becomes involved with a guy I have stressed that I would like her to use her head and use birth control. Plus, if she came home pregnant she would have no problem getting support from my hubby & me. But at the end of the day, it is up to her and I would hope she would be smart enough to either have the baby and keep it or give it up for adoption.

Ya know what drives the media ... advertising.

Know what drives advertising...readership, viewership or listener numbers.

So don't blame the media for giving us exactly what we ask for. The media outlets that don't, they aren't around anymore Clint. If this kind of crap wasn't what the American public was clammering for, it's not what would be served up to us.

It's us, the public- that have no soul left. The media never pretended to..

yeah, i think it could. and it's not because she's a mom. I'd have a hard time casting my vote for any candidate, mom or dad, that would think that the political worlds need for them was more important then the need to shelter their own child from what these folks HAD TO HAVE KNOWN was coming.. what a colossal ego that takes..

and if they didn't know it was coming and coming soon.... they are too stupid for my vote anyways..

McCain needs to stay very very healthy, between now and November. If not, I'll find myself looking closer at the running mate then i might otherwise.

I'm a strange one though... I still have issues with bidens plagerism... unless I attached it to the wrong guy, way back when... every time i see him.. that flashes in my head...:-2

My daughter has posed some interesting questions regarding Palin's daughter.

Does this mean she will be dropping out of high school in her senior year?

And who is going to take care of the baby if she doesn't?

What does the daddy to be do for a living, besides blog on his Myspace account?

My 13 yr old daughter posed these questions to me tonight, so I though I would throw them out to you guys.

I think we have an opportunity to take this crap fest and turn it into a learning experience for our kids.

Ask your daughter what she thinks will happen. Ask her if the answers would be different for the average girl in her school. Ask her if she thinks for one moment that this womans daughter thought this could happen to her and her boyfriend..

Ask her what she thinks of the fact that everyone, friends and strangers alike think they are entitled to judge this girl who didn't think it would happen to her and her parents.

Then ask her if she can be brave enough to ask for contraception before she gets herself into a similar situation. Ask her if she can be smart enough to talk to you before doing something that may have dire consequences in her future.

If nothing else good comes from this, I hope we talk with our own kids.

Here we are on a thread dealing with the most important decision the US will make in the near future and it has been reduced to this. Is this what the selection process is going to be about? Is it going to be about the candidates or about their families? Is it about our future or a families most private problems?

If America wants mothers in the top jobs then America had better be willing to accept the problems that come with it. This wouldn't be a discussion if it was Mr. Palin who was Mayor, Governor then VP candidate.

Maybe the question about gender roles isn't as well resolved as everyone wants to pretend it is.

Strange to me that the liberals are the ones making an issue of this.

I really don't think this specific issue is about gender Clint. It's about a parent thinking about their kids before themselves. It happened to be a mother that made the choice to put political ambition above protecting her daughter. It could just as easily been biden.

You will never convince me that it didn't occur to anyone that idiots would attempt to make this daughters situation the talking point at the first available opportunity.

I do agree that the gender issue is totally unresolved as is the color issue. Those issues aren't resolved until the best men or women receive the votes they get because of their stand on issues rather then on the color of their skin or their gender. I think that Palin brings conservatives back to the McCain camp. She also brings the Hillary hardliners who can't forgive the democrats for not going female. I don't blame Palin for attracting those voters. I do have issues with voters that are that easily manipulated.

Your right - the gender issue isn't resolved

Most of this dirt on Palin is dug up by a Jealous FEMALE.

I think Palin looks like Julia L. Dryfuss.

I'd like to hear her out.

After all - we were willing to elect HILLARY for PRES., and look what she allowed.

Perhaps she was out of the LOOP too..
